Practicing Mental Skills

Athlete Coaching

Foundation: Building Trust

An athlete must trust that their coach cares about their well-being and respects their goals before they’re willing to honestly open up about their challenges. This requires a bit of time together as we explore what motivates, what’s playing on the mental soundtrack, and what changes as competition approaches.

  • Three half-hour 1:1 sessions, preferably in the off-season (or less competitive season)

  • Unlimited text communication between sessions

$225 one-time

Maintenance Reps

As athletes we all have those periods when we’re knocked off track a little. The rhythm we once felt seems just out of our reach. We grind to try to get it back, but it still feels elusive.

When an athlete has their mental foundation in place, and we’ve worked through a season together, we can meet as little or as frequently as needed. That, too, is very athlete-dependent, so let’s figure out what you need and create a new rhythm that makes sense.

  • Priority, ad-hoc sessions (billed separately at $165/session)

  • Unlimited text communication between sessions for those who’ve completed their foundation and in-season program

$50 per month

Mental Skills Practice

The competitive season provides a lot of opportunity to put new skills into practice. More frequent sessions are beneficial as results don’t fall the way your athlete wants, or pressure-filled moments mount as the season winds down.

The purpose is to refine the tools to which your athlete relates and put them into practice at the next competition.

  • Three fifty-minute 1:1 sessions per month

  • Unlimited text communication between sessions

$495 per month

(4-month minimum requested)

Family Coaching

Foundation: Building Trust

Your athlete spends more time with you than they do with their coaches. The impact family has on the mindset going into competition is enormous.

The initial familiy sessions are conducted with parents and athletes separately as well as one together as a collective unit in order to see how everyone views the challenges.

  • Three 50-minute sessions (athlete only, parents only, and/or one with both athlete and family based on circumstances)

  • Unlimited text/email communication

$495

Maintenance Reps

As the support infrastructure begins to become more prevalent the frequent family sessions become less critical.

But, competition has a way of always challenging us. Maintenace practice reps are an important way to keep the skills we’ve identified sharp and to remain conscious of our emotional reactions.

Sometimes that requires a live session, other times it may just spawn questions or thoughts that can be addressed asynchronously via text or email.

  • Ad-hoc sessions (billed separately at $165/session)

  • Unlimited text/email communication between sessions for those who’ve completed their foundation and skill building program

$50 per month

Mental Skills Family Practice

The heat of competition and focus on results will provide the most difficult test of the skills and the strategy we collectively decide to put into practice. Inevitably, results won’t fall the way you or your athlete desires and it’ll be important to work through those situations to build the muscle that leads to the action that best supports your athlete’s needs.

  • Three 1:1 sessions per month

  • Unlimited text/email communication between sessions

$495 per month

(4-month minimum requested)

Team Coaching

Alignment & Introductory Skills

The off-season is typically allows for more introspection without the distraction of results.

But, none of this matters if the philosophy isn’t aligned with the coach’s. This program begins with one session to understand how the coach brings out each athlete’s best and the culture they have created with the team.

Based on the areas the coach sees as necessary to take the next step in mental performance, we will meet with the team to work through those challenges and provide methods to practice the skills required.

  • One coach session to get aligned plus three thirty-minute team sessions

  • Unlimited text communication for all athletes

$295

In-Season Skill Practice Package

The competitive season provides a lot of opportunity to put new skills into practice. It can also bring out our bad habits as well.

During the season our purpose is to refine the tools your athlete best relates to so they can put them into practice at the next competition.

Meeting more frequently can help interrupt the negative thought patterns before they grow too loud.

  • Three fifty-minute 1:1 sessions per month

  • Unlimited text communication between sessions

$425/athlete/month
